Vinson ‘Soy’ Lao

Vinson “Soy” Lao was born and raised in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. After completing high school, he pursued his passion for design and creativity at the University of the Philippines, where he earned a degree in Architecture. Shortly after obtaining his professional license, he established his own architectural firm, specializing in the design and construction of residential homes.

In the early 2000s, Soy moved to Northern California to join his wife and build a new chapter of their lives together. They now reside in the East Bay with their two children.

Beyond architecture, Soy has a lifelong—and often unrequited—love affair with basketball, a passion he simply cannot seem to quit. In his spare time, he enjoys following the NBA, creating comic strip sketches, playing computer games with his son, and traveling with family and friends.

Soy is currently a practicing licensed architect in the State of California. Alongside his architectural career, he is also a published author and accomplished comic book artist, blending his love for storytelling, illustration, and design into his creative pursuits.
